Lavadins |
|
A sterile hybrid of angustifolia and latifolia (Spike
Lavender). Lavandins generally have a narrow base and
upright habit. The grey-green leaves are broader than the
English Lavender. The flower stalks are long, and
most have lateral flowering shoots.
Flower heads are conical in
shape and are aroma is sweet scented, mildly
camphorous and appear during July and August, but often
continue into autumn. Used mainly for drying off the stalk
and for scenting potpourri.
Does well in both northern and southern states were it is
quite humid. |

season, and very dense. Flowers are violet blue with a much darker
violet calyces. Grosso was discovered in France in 1972 and is

spikes, Grosso also known as Dilly Dilly or Wilson Giant is used as
an ornamental, fragrant and oil purposes and wonderful for crafting
projects.

flower heads as long as 3 inches are a solid violet with light
purple highlights. Flower aroma is both powerful and sweet and lacks

uses. Commercially the most popular lavender grown in France's
